Chania is city located North-West of the island of Crete. Chania is the second largest city in the island and it is the capital of Chania regional unit. The total extend of prefecture is 2376 km² occupying the 28.5% of the island or 0,018% of Greece. The population of the regional unit is 156,585 (based on records 2011) and the area is subdivided into 7 municipalities:
